SDL International is a world leader in localization and translation services for IT, e-business and multimedia sectors. We are now looking for a French Translator/Line Manager to join our multilingual in-house localization team in Sheffield (UK) on a permanent basis.

You will work with a well-established team of experienced translators, with the main focus on translation and review of a diverse range of material, including documentation, web sites or software, as well as terminology management and quality assurance.

Candidates must show interest and experience in a variety of subjects, including legal, marketing, advertising, financial and general issues, technical documentation, with a focus on corporate literature (training manuals, competency-based job descriptions, product brochures, newsletters, financial statements, contracts, legal notices). Strong writing skills in French are a must, along with an expert use of the style and register suitable for a business environment.

The successful candidate will have a first-rate level of fluency in French plus an excellent command of the English language, with a degree in translation (or equivalent).  Previous experience (minimum 3-4 yrs) in the field of translation/localization is essential for this post, together with proven experience in leading a small team in a fast-paced environment.

IT literate with good MS Office skills, you will also be familiar with the management of all linguistic aspects of the localization process, and knowledge of CAT tools is essential.
